Ahmed Hashmi works as a private equity investor, and C-suite advisor, at the intersection of energy transformation and innovation through his businesses (e-squared capital and e-squared advisors).
Over a nearly forty-year career in the energy industry, Ahmed held technical, commercial, and leadership positions with Amoco and BP, in the US, Europe, Africa, Latin America, and the Arabian Gulf.
He led the creation and delivery of several businesses, underpinned by technological and operating model innovation.
As an executive member of BP’s corporate ventures investment committee, Ahmed helped shape the corporate ventures arm, with an investment pipeline that resulted in exits, spinouts, and several technology firsts.
He has served on the Board of Directors of BP Exploration & Production Inc., Board of the International Centre for Advanced Materials in the UK, Board of the Energy Biosciences Institute at the University of California-Berkeley, and BP's Main Board Technology Advisory Council.
He lives in Houston with his wife and their adult son who has special needs. He divides his time between supporting family, professional pursuits, and volunteer work.
