Ajith is a distinguished energy industry veteran with over 30 years of experience in global oil and gas. At Shell, Ajith currently serves as Operational Excellence Manager for upstream and LNG business units in the Americas.
Ajith began his career as a geologist for oil majors in South/Southeast Asia. He served in progressively senior technical and leadership roles in the region and played a pivotal role in developing major oil and gas fields for industry majors like Mobil Oil, TOTAL, Nippon Oil, and ONGC. Prior to joining Shell, he was the upstream strategy advisor for a leading US energy advisory firm.
In his 15 years at Shell, Ajith has spearheaded performance transformation and operational excellence across various business units by harnessing technology and digitalization. He is particularly passionate about the intersection of AI/ML and operations, leveraging these technologies to transform safety, work culture, and performance.
Outside of work, Ajith is dedicated to community service. He mentors students and young professionals and advises non-profit organizations on scaling up and achieving performance excellence. He is also an aspiring amateur pilot.
Ajith earned an MBA from The Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona.
