Ajith Murthy is a senior energy executive and trusted advisor with over 35 years of global experience across exploration, development, and large-scale asset operations. He has held leadership roles with Shell International, BG India, Mobil US, and Nippon Oil (Vietnam), with deep expertise in working with national oil companies, joint ventures, and complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
He has a proven track record of partnering with executive leadership teams to drive value creation, optimize operations, and lead organizational transformation. At Shell, he supported a multi-asset portfolio across the Americas producing over 1.2 BCF/D, delivering double-digit production growth, structural cost efficiencies, and improved operational resilience.
Ajith has led enterprise-scale digital transformation initiatives, deploying advanced analytics and technologies to enhance productivity, strengthen safety performance, and improve capital efficiency across upstream operations.
Earlier in his career, he advised global energy companies on upstream strategy, portfolio restructuring, and IOC–NOC partnerships, influencing major investment decisions and long-term growth strategies. He is known for combining deep technical expertise with strong commercial and strategic judgment to support high-impact decision-making at the executive level.
